Dalfaber Community Park

In March 2021 AGCT, in partnership with Aviemore Community Enterprise Company (ACE) carried out a community consultation on the preferred use of Highland Council vacant land situated within Dalfaber Drive, Aviemore (which is designated for community use under Highland Council and Cairngorms National Park Authority Planning).

The survey identified high-level support for community ownership of the site and a number of key aims that included a wheeled sports/climbing area and a multi-use community park area, community buildings/café, and a community growing area.

The Trust submitted a Community Asset Transfer Expression of Interest to Highland Council for the site and successfully obtained funding from Highland Council Place Based Investment Program to develop conceptual designs to support an asset transfer application.

In October 2022, after a competitive procurement process, LDN Architects were selected to lead a team of consultants to create a masterplan for the site, including sketch design proposals, a viable transport strategy, and an initial business case, which can be viewed here.

*To better focus our efforts AGCT have prioritised the completion of the Glenmore Visitor Centre asset transfer request. We believe this to be key to supporting the Trust in development of future projects.
